Everything you need to know about IAML programs, from registration to credits.

About IAML

IAML (Institute for Applied Management & Law) has been the trusted source for HR and employment law training since 1979. We've trained over 80,000 HR professionals, in-house counsel, and managers through our certificate programs, workshops, and corporate training. Our programs cover everything from employee relations law and workplace investigations to strategic HR leadership and employee benefits.
Our instructors are practicing attorneys and experienced HR professionals who handle employment matters every day—not academics or corporate trainers reading from textbooks. They bring real courtroom experience, actual case examples, and practical strategies you can implement immediately. When you ask a question, you get an answer from someone who's dealt with that exact situation.
Our faculty consists of practicing employment attorneys and senior HR professionals who handle employment law cases and workplace issues daily. They share strategies from actual courtrooms and workplaces, not textbooks. They answer questions from direct experience, not theory.

Programs & Formats

We hold in-person programs in cities throughout the year including Denver, Scottsdale, Newport Beach, Atlanta, and Washington D.C. Most programs run 2-3 days. We select venues for great restaurants, walkable neighborhoods, and quality facilities—not airport hotels.
Yes. We run virtual programs with the same faculty and content, delivered live online with real-time Q&A. Recordings are available if you get pulled into a meeting. You get the same practical training without the travel.
Absolutely. We do private, on-site training for organizations and customize the content for your industry, policies, and actual situations. It's often the best option for companies training 8+ people—no public settings, no confidentiality concerns about asking about your specific challenges.
In-person programs run 2-4.5 days depending on the program. Virtual programs cover similar content with shorter daily sessions spread across more days. Corporate on-site training is flexible—we work around your schedule. Either way, you're investing days, not weeks, and walking away with immediately applicable skills.
We offer comprehensive certificate programs in Employee Relations Law, Employee Benefits Law, Strategic HR Leadership, and Workplace Investigations. We also offer specialty programs covering advanced employment law topics, discrimination prevention, labor relations, retirement plans, and more. Check our program schedule for the full list.

Registration & Pricing

You'll receive an invoice email within minutes of registering. We'll schedule a 10-15 minute pre-program consultation to understand your specific challenges and ensure you get maximum value. Your course materials arrive about one week before the program starts.
Everything you need: all course materials, policy templates, decision trees, and ongoing access to resources. In-person events include meals and networking time with faculty and peers. Virtual programs include downloadable materials and access to recordings. No surprise fees, no "premium tier" nonsense.
Yes, and it usually makes sense. For in-person events, we offer group rates when you register multiple people. For virtual programs, everyone can join from their own desk. For corporate training, we come to you and train your entire team at once. When everyone learns the same system, you don't waste time later translating concepts or debating approaches.
You can register online through our program schedule page. For corporate training, group registrations, or questions, contact us directly and we'll help you find the right program and format for your needs.

Continuing Education

Yes. We're accredited for CLE, SHRM, and HRCI credits. Our programs qualify because they're taught by practicing attorneys and HR professionals—it doesn't matter if you attend in-person, virtually, or through corporate training. We handle the paperwork automatically.
IAML programs qualify for SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs), HRCI Recertification Credits, and CLE Credits for attorneys. The specific credit hours vary by program—check individual program pages for exact credit amounts.
IAML is an approved provider. We provide a completion certificate with our provider ID. For HRCI, you submit directly to them. For SHRM and CLE, we walk you through the process. It's straightforward—we've done this thousands of times.

General

Check our schedule for the next in-person event in your region, or we can set up virtual training faster. Public programs (in-person and virtual) run throughout the year. Need something sooner or want it customized? We can schedule private corporate training within a few weeks, depending on availability.
HR professionals at all levels, in-house counsel, HR managers and directors, employee relations specialists, benefits administrators, and anyone who handles employment matters as part of their role. Whether you're new to HR or a seasoned professional looking to stay current, our programs are designed to deliver practical value.
